PageLoom
PageLoom Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026-04-29
PageLoom is a PDF reading, PDF splitting, partial PDF export, text extraction, OCR fallback, prompt template, and workflow assistance app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This policy explains how PageLoom handles documents and related information.
简体中文摘要:PageLoom 主要在设备本地处理 PDF、文本提取和提示词模板。我们不上传您的 PDF、OCR 内容或提取文本到我们的服务器,也不提供云同步或广告追踪。
Information We Collect
No account information
PageLoom does not require you to create an account, register, or log in.
Local documents and user content
You may import PDFs from Files into the app sandbox. Imported PDFs, exported partial PDFs, extracted text, OCR results, and global prompt templates are handled locally on your device. We do not receive these files or their contents.
Purchase information handled by Apple
PageLoom includes a StoreKit In-App Purchase named PageLoom Pro with Product ID com.wang2.PdfSplitReader.pro.lifetime. Purchases and restores are processed by Apple App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment details.
Diagnostics and analytics from Apple
Apple may provide developers with system logs, crash reports, performance diagnostics, or App Store Connect statistics, depending on your device and Apple account settings. We do not use these reports to actively collect personally identifiable information.
How We Use Information
PageLoom uses local files and content only to provide app features you choose to use:
- reading PDFs locally;
- splitting PDFs by page range;
- exporting the current selected page range as a partial PDF;
- extracting text from a PDF text layer;
- attempting local OCR fallback on iPhone and iPad when text is not copyable;
- saving and applying prompt templates stored on your device;
- sharing user-selected PDFs or text through the system share sheet.
Local Processing
PDF reading
PDF reading happens in the app on your device.
PDF text extraction
PageLoom first tries to extract text from the PDF text layer using Apple PDFKit where available.
On-device OCR fallback on iPhone and iPad
If a PDF page has no copyable text, PageLoom may try an on-device OCR fallback on iOS and iPadOS. macOS currently does not perform scanned-document OCR fallback in PageLoom. OCR and text extraction are performed locally; PageLoom does not use third-party cloud OCR.
Sharing
System share sheet
PageLoom lets you share user-selected PDF fragments or extracted text through the Apple system share sheet.
Third-party destination responsibility
When you choose to share content with another app, website, AI app, or other third-party destination, that destination receives the content you selected. The privacy policy and terms of that third party apply to the shared content. PageLoom does not send PDFs, extracted text, or OCR content to AI services on your behalf.
In-App Purchases
PageLoom Pro is a non-consumable lifetime unlock. Purchase, billing, refunds, family sharing availability, and restore behavior are handled by Apple App Store and StoreKit under Apple's policies.
Data Retention
Imported PDFs and locally saved app data remain on your device unless you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device. Prompt templates are also stored locally until you edit or delete them, reset app data, or uninstall the app.
Children's Privacy
PageLoom is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because PageLoom does not require accounts and does not upload user documents to our servers, we do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.
Security
PageLoom is designed around local document handling. You are responsible for protecting your device, device passcode, backups, and any third-party destinations you choose when sharing content.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when PageLoom changes or when legal, technical, or App Store requirements change. The Effective Date above will be updated when the policy changes materially.
